My best friend has dubbed 2016 the year of change. The year we get up off our arses and we start changing the things in our lives that make us unhappy or that are not helping us do the things we’d love to be doing. The year we try new things and take on new projects. The year of change!
One of the things I’d like to change up and start doing better in 2016, and something A LOT of recruiters tell me they want to start doing better in 2016, is using social media. “Wow, that’s a funny goal for Social Talent’s social media manager to have”, I hear you say. But when I say “change up” the way I use social media, I mean I want to start learning more about each of the platforms I use on a day-to-day basis and how to take things up a notch! Basically, I want to take things “next level” in 2016!
But, for many of the recruiters I hear from and speak to on a daily basis, “doing better” things with social media in 2016 means just actually starting to use social media! So, with today’s blog post I wanted to facilitate that change and provide you with an infographic that will help you form a basic social media strategy and help you identify some of the tasks you should be focusing on when it comes to using various social media platforms as part of your recruiting efforts.
Thankfully, being the social media wizz kids that they are, Buffer have broken down many of tasks associated with managing social media into a daily checklist, a weekly checklist, and a monthly checklist, which I have included below
As a recruiter and not a social media manager, naturally some of these points will not apply to you directly, but every point on this checklist is valid for recruiters and how they use social media for recruiting, so take some time to consider it and start devising ways to incorporate its outlined activities into your day-to-day tasks. I guarantee your 2016 will be all the better because of it!
