Following notification a couple weeks ago that VisualCV.com, an Internet-based resume building and career portfolio management service, would be shutting its doors at the conclusion of 2011, this morning the company announced that it had been acquired by Talent Technology, a leading solutions provider in the recruiting technology market.
With that announcement, VisualCV also noted that Talent Technology would continue to operate the VisualCV.com website and that it will not be shut down as previously announced.
VisualCV came onto the scene in early 2007 and has been a favorite sourcing resource for recruiters and recruitment sourcers for the last several years. The service was developed to solve problems that professionals face as they seek to find jobs and develop and advance their careers, while at the same time helping employers find and hire better candidates faster. A VisualCV allows professionals to easily build and manage an online career portfolio that comes alive with informational keyword pop-ups, video, pictures, and professional networking. VisualCV.com enables secure sharing of VisualCVs for networking, career advancement, and business development.
According to its press release this morning,
Talent Technology is committed to leveraging VisualCV’s approach and vision to improving the candidate experience through innovative technology and improved user experience. The service will continue to operate as a standalone offering, allowing current VisualCV users to continue to leverage their dynamic and secure online resumes for free. Users can also look forward to new innovations to help them create even more engaging online resumes faster and easier in the future. Talent Technology’s mission is to connect people and jobs through smart technology. This agreement strengthens Talent Technology’s ability to deliver on that mission.
This acquisition by Talent Technology adds to its collection of resume-related acquisitions, as last year it acquired both Standout Jobs and TalentSpring. Talent Technology also just release a new version of their Talemetry talent generation suiteearlier this week, so the Vancouver, B.C. based company certainly hasn’t slowed down operations during the holidays one bit. In the new release, a redesigned user interface has been developed to help novice and experienced recruiters search, rank, and contact candidates from virtually any internal job database, job board, or social network. Additionally, a new candidate profile viewer has been released to simplify the experience of reviewing candidates.
According to the Talent Technology website, the company “strive[s] to be the most important technology partner for organizations to connect people with the right job, every time, everywhere.” Its acquisition of VisualCV is yet another step in this direction.
