Google Glass is a fun new novelty item that gets a lot of attention at parties and conferences. We all enjoy trying on a pair and tweeting a strange picture of the owner, staring at us awkwardly, as we try on their new $1500 toy.
Maren Hogan caught up with two recruiting professionals wearing Google Glass at the recent SourceCon conference in Atlanta. Below are their opinions.
Should sourcers and recruiters run out and buy Google Glass right now?
Every time I see someone wearing Google Glass, I ask them a lot of questions. From what I can gather, Google Glass will be a great tool for us in the future. However, at this time, talent acquisition professionals shouldn’t purchase Google Glass with the idea it will make them a more efficient or effective recruiter or sourcer. There are still a lot of kinks that need to be worked out before we can truly implement Glass into the sourcing and recruiting workflow. That said, if you have $1500 laying around and you get an invite, you can have a lot of fun.
