Many tools come and go, but some have become very reliable in our efforts to better source talent. Sourcers are keen on the advantages of sourcing tools, but many are still learning the power of combining sourcing tools to achieve optimal success.
Like in the card game Yu-Gi-Oh, you can combine tools or cards to create magic. Yu Gi Oh is a card game that is based on a well-known children’s show called Yu Gi Oh. In the show, the good guys battle using cards that when combined with particular hologram technology brings the cards to life. In some cases, you can connect these cards to do something extraordinary.
One such example is the calling of the ultimate Dragon stopper Dark Paladin. Dark Paladin gets a massive jump in power for every Dragon monster on the field or in either player’s graveyard (a place where cards that have been destroyed are put). So it is a mighty monster when fighting dragon monsters which are the most popular in the game. However, to call Dark Paladin, you need to get two other monsters on the field. One must be Dark Magician, and the other is Buster Blader. However, once you get them and call Dark Paladin, you have one of the most prominent monsters in Yu Gi Oh.
Like combining cards in Yu Gi Oh you can combine tools to create a compelling combination that can do a lot.
For example Let’s say we use the tool Bool, which is a site and tool that helps you to create boolean strings. Then you can use another tool called LeadMine Prospector, which allows you to grab vast numbers of people and add them to a list and it suddenly finds contact information. What makes this tool so great is it can pull the people form a Google X-ray search. Once you have all this, you can then download the list from LeadMine to a CSV and upload to your ATS or CRM.
Now Let’s say you have downloaded the file, but there are some without emails because LeadMine grabs their LinkedIn URL as I stated in “Combining Common Sourcing Tools to Create a Magic Sourcing Solution” Part One, we can now use Hiretual to upload the LinkedIn URLs and find even more information. Just follow the direction of that post. However, once you have done that if there are any still without emails and stuff you can now use TOOFR which I wrote about in “Combining Tools to create sourcing Magic 7”, and get work emails for whoever is left.
So let’s go through this.
- Step one – you create a boolean string using Bool to source.
- Step two – you use LeadMine to grab the profiles and to gain contact information.
- (optional) – As an option, we can upload LinkedIn URLs into Hiretual to get even more contact information.
- Step 2b you can then use Toofr to get emails from what’s left.
- Step three – you upload to your ATS/CRM.
- Step four – you start contacting your candidate pool.
