Many tools come and go, but some have become very reliable in our efforts to better source talent. Sourcers are keen on the advantages of sourcing tools, but many are still learning the power behind combining sourcing tools to achieve optimal success. This is the eighth article in a series of posts on how you can combine tools to create sourcing magic.

Like in the card game Yu-Gi-Oh, you can combine tools or cards to create magic. Yu Gi Oh is a card game that is based on a well-known children’s show called Yu Gi Oh. In the show, the good guys battle using cards that when combined with particular hologram technology brings the cards to life. It is based on Egyptian mythology. In the game, Yu-Gi-Oh, there are different kinds of cards; there are Spells, Traps and Monster cards. In some cases, you can combine these cards to do something extraordinary.

One such example is the calling of the powerful monster called Junk Warrior. Mainly to get Junk Warrior you need to sacrifice two specific cards. However, you have a choice on which two cards. You can use Junk Synchron with either Tunungware or with Quillbolt Hedgehog. Either combination will get you to the very powerful Junk Warrior.

For example, let’s say we use the tool ZenSourcer which is a new tool that allows you to search via LinkedIn and download a complete profile via the PDF download button. So basically you would search as you would commonly in LinkedIn. Find a profile you like, and then activate Zensourcer. Download the PDF of that profile and Zensourcer will gather information from the PDF.

Of course, there is more as it will also find you an email address for that person. And part of the download includes the full profile. You can create lists of people for a particular position and when you have all you want merely download the whole list which will consist of; name, title, company, LinkedIn URL, and email if they have it and the full profile. Since you are using the LinkedIn search functions, you will have all their search criteria to help you. In the coming months expect them to add; Facebook, Github, StackOverflow, and Twitter.

However, no tool is 100% and let’s say there are about 30 names without emails. You can then take the CSV and upload it to another tool called TOOFR, and it will find your emails for all the missing ones. TOOFR will only find work emails. Now you have a list of email addresses for everyone that you can upload to your ATS or CRM and start contacting.

So let’s go through this;

  1. Step one – you source on Zensourcer, get your enhanced list.
  2. Step two – you download your list.
  3. Step three – you upload the list to TOOFR for further enhancement.
  4. Step four – you download the final enhanced list.
  5. Step five – you upload to your ATS/CRM.
  6. Step six – you start contacting your candidate pool.

Stay tuned for part nine in the series!
